As some of you who read my blog will know that I have been trying to acheive my distinctions with the British Photographic Exhibitions, I have now acheived my BPE3*! This means I have had over 100 acceptances in all BPE Salons entered. I set myself a personal target to gain BPE3* within my first first year of entering the British Exhibitions and I acheived this with only one day to spare! :) #portfolio #exhibitions #creative #colour
The London Salon of Photography is one of the most prestigious annual exhibitions in the world, attracting thousands of entries from all over the globe. Their website statement is 'The aim of the London Salon is to exhibit only that class of photographic work in which there is distinct evidence of artistic feeling and execution', well I am extremely proud and honoured to have had two acceptances in this year’s salon :) In the Colour section 'A Walk in the Park' was accepted
Last year I was asked if I would do a talk at a local camera club, and even though I had never done a talk on photography before, I agreed! Time seemed to speed past and before I knew it, the date was looming. My wife was trying to get me to write out those little prompt cards, but a bit like my photography, I didn't want a script! I did however sit down and choose about 90 odd images from my portfolio and put them in a semi oder of progression. The next decision was what to

Finally I received my application pack for my CPAGB award merit. If you are not familiar with these awards the PAGB is an organisation that represents all the photographic societies around the UK and it has a series of Merit awards to recognise achievement by members of photographic societies. The CPAGB is the first merit award and you can only apply after serving with a camera club for at least two years. For the CPAGB your images are judged on a scale of marks from 2 to 5.
First front cover whoop whoop! Really happy to have been approached by Practical Photoshop Magazine to feature on Issue 27 (Summer Issue) front cover. The image they wanted was 'Set Them Free' this was shot earlier this year with the lovely Sophie Charlotte Harrison. I did several different style shots withSophie but always had in mind I might do a series of images with picture frames. I like the idea of a picture within a picture, you can tell more of a story within the one
Well after just four exhibitions on the BPE (British Photographic Exhibitions) circuit, I have achieved the criteria to apply for BPE1. In laymans terms you get one crown point for every acceptence achieved into an exhibition. To gain BPE1 you must gain 25 points then you can apply, so I did! :) I can now use the distinction letters after my name ( Baden Bowen BPE1), looking forward to working my way up to the next level of BPE2. #bpe #exhibitions #award #portfolio #photo
